Looking back at 2004

In a couple of days time, 2004 will become history. It was not too long ago that I had welcomed 2004 and now it's time to lay the red carpet for 2005. Time does really fly and looking back at the past year, I have actually not achieved much apart from a drastic career change. Whether it is a change for the better or for the worse, there is no turning back and it's a decision that I have to live with at least for the time being. I still miss the time I had with my kids though they might not feel the same. Teaching has always been in my blood but somehow I decided to venture into somethng new while I still can. Starting an internet cafe is something very new to both me and my partner. We are no businessmen but no venture no gain, we just have to take the risk. 5 months down the line and we are still learning the ropes of the trade. Business is slow but picking up and more need to be done to promote the place so as to get more human flow into the building. On the other hand, the cafe actually allowed me to become closer to some of my ex-students as we were able to spend more time together which otherwise might not have been possible. I am really grateful to all my ex-students and teachers who came to support me.

Anyway, life is unpredictable and I might just make another drastic change or even a comeback in the coming year. What about you, have you made plans for the coming year yet? Don't wait too long to decide what you want to do or before you know it 2005 is gone and 2006 is already at your doorsteps. Remember, time and tide waits for no man or woman for that matter. Good luck to all and may all have a successful 2005.
